We are incredibly proud of our 4th and 5th graders who participated in iNight. Their projects were both fun and informative, and students did a wonderful job sharing their learning and creativity with the community.

As part of the 5th Grade Student Council service projects, we are partnering with KFB. This week we have an assembly introducing the concept, watching a video, looking at some of the safety tools (gloves & trash grabber) and wanted to include most grade levels. Grade 5 Student Council members will have an active role in KFB here at Stapleton this spring. All grade levels will be encouraged to use the "Anti-Litter Pledge", which will be provided after the assembly.
Students actively participated in the assemblies and were highly engaged throughout the presentation. Some 5th graders were so excited that they even asked for the KFB team’s autographs! While they initially hoped to have their shirts signed, they happily settled for signatures on paper. We have even seen student-created signs displayed around the school and student who picked up trash at recess showing how inspired they were by the visit.

Ask your students about ST Math March Mathness! This week, students were greeted at the buses and during car drop-off by our ST Math mascot, JiJi, to celebrate everyone’s hard work and progress. It was a fun way to recognize students’ efforts and excitement for math learning!
Each class will compete against another to have the most puzzles completed each week. If your class wins, you move on to the next round!
We will compete in March Mathness all month until just 2 classes are left and they will will battle for one to be named March Mathness Champion! There will be a fabulous prize for the champion class!
Even if your class gets eliminated from the bracket, every class can win ST MATHNESS CLASS OF THE WEEK and get a special prize for their classroom!

Student Cell Phone & Smart Watch Use
Students are not permitted to use cell phones or smartwatches during the school day. We have included smartwatches in this policy because many models now have the ability to text, call, and take photos, just like cell phones. If a student is found using their phone or smartwatch during the day, they will be asked to put it away. If the issue becomes persistent, the device will be held in the office until the end of the day, and caregivers will be notified.
Thank you for your support in helping us minimize distractions and maintain a focused learning environment.

This year, our shared focus at Stapleton is captured in the following student-centered goal:
“As a Stapleton student, I believe in myself and take an active role in my learning.” Our school goal is announced each morning during morning announcements and is posted in every classroom.
