Over the past few weeks, we have had several days of indoor recess due to very cold temperatures. We know how important it is for students to get outside for fresh air and movement, and we will continue to take students outdoors for recess whenever the weather is safe to do so. Please be sure students have the proper cold weather attire (winter coat, hat, boots, gloves/mittens)should we have outdoor recess.
We also invite you to check out the information below about our upcoming LEGOs in the Library and LEGO Fest events. We’re looking forward to these fun opportunities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and community connection.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We are down to the final stretch with one domain left, writing!
Grades 1-3 will be using paper writing booklets.
Grades 4-5 will be completing the writing assessment on their chromebooks.
The writing tests are expected to take ~1 hour.
We will be completing make-ups 2/9-2/13. The goal is to have all ACCESS testing completed by 2/13.
All students in the Framingham Public Schools that are identified as English Learners/Emergent Bilingual will participate in the ACCESS test throughout January and February 2026. Please see this Smore for more information.

Student Cell Phone & Smart Watch Use
Students are not permitted to use cell phones or smartwatches during the school day. We have included smartwatches in this policy because many models now have the ability to text, call, and take photos, just like cell phones. If a student is found using their phone or smartwatch during the day, they will be asked to put it away. If the issue becomes persistent, the device will be held in the office until the end of the day, and caregivers will be notified.
Thank you for your support in helping us minimize distractions and maintain a focused learning environment.

This year, our shared focus at Stapleton is captured in the following student-centered goal:
“As a Stapleton student, I believe in myself and take an active role in my learning.” Our school goal is announced each morning during morning announcements and is posted in every classroom. At our January community meeting, students made goals that are being announced daily at morning announcements.
