Student Council
Our fifth grade Student Council recently met with student leaders from Framingham High School. Debora da Vitoria, Chair of the Student Advisory Council (SAC), organized and facilitated the visit. FHS students guided our Student Council members in meaningful discussions about leadership, ideas for school improvement, and future opportunities as student leaders. It was an inspiring experience that helped our students see themselves as leaders both now and in the years ahead.

Some classrooms may choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day as Friendship Day. For classrooms that participate, please note that candy is not permitted. We also ask that if you choose to participate that every student in the class receive a card, ensuring that all students feel included.
Thank you for helping us make Friendship Day a fun, inclusive, and positive experience for all students.

On cold weather days, it is important that students have proper winter attire (coat, hat, gloves/mittens and boots). We go outside for recess based on the guidelines below.

Student Cell Phone & Smart Watch Use
Students are not permitted to use cell phones or smartwatches during the school day. We have included smartwatches in this policy because many models now have the ability to text, call, and take photos, just like cell phones. If a student is found using their phone or smartwatch during the day, they will be asked to put it away. If the issue becomes persistent, the device will be held in the office until the end of the day, and caregivers will be notified.
Thank you for your support in helping us minimize distractions and maintain a focused learning environment.

This year, our shared focus at Stapleton is captured in the following student-centered goal:
“As a Stapleton student, I believe in myself and take an active role in my learning.” Our school goal is announced each morning during morning announcements and is posted in every classroom. At our January community meeting, students made goals that are being announced daily at morning announcements.
